Startups For Peace

CPIK is advancing in an exciting new direction, expanding from work with children to women and warriors.

Our Startups

During the summer of 2022, the CPI team decided to take their work in an exciting new direction. We saw our model of peace-building work with children from the Samburu and Pokot tribes and we wanted to expand our efforts. Josephine Lengapiani, a successful businesswoman from the Samburu tribe who trades with herders from the Pokot tribe, inspired us to pursue the creation of a Women’s Entrepreneur Network. The network will provide women with the necessary resources to provide for themselves and their families while simultaneously building peace and fighting against climate change. Our second startup, will help herders from the two tribes share water and pasture-land during periods of extreme drought – instead of stealing each other’s cows.

While the future will be challenging, we know that our work will make important impact in Northern Kenya. We would love for you to support us and join our efforts!
